Description

In this weeks episode, we have the absolute pleasure of speaking with journalist, advocate, mentor and trauma trainer Karen Percy.

Karen has been reporting for more than three and a half decades and has travelled the world – living in Toronto, Bangkok and Russia – as a broadcaster and writer. She’s skilled in  audio, video and web media as well as social media.Based in Melbourne, she is a champion of diversity and equity especially in the media sector. She advocates for improved media literacy as a way to support democracy.

She takes a trauma-informed approach which entails understanding another person's trauma experiences and dealing with them in an empathetic and ethical way. She’s been enduring menopause for 7 (!) years now.

It was an absolute joy and privilege to interview Karen and discuss how trauma can show up in our life. We have countless conversations with women who are feeling the effects of traumatic life experiences during Menopause or who are feeling like they are suffering with trauma.

Throughout the episode we talk about what trauma is and can be, taking a trauma-informed approach and how past experiences can show up in our life at times of change and transformation.
