Description

In this episode I explore the emotion of anger, looking at how it exists in the brain, exploring how it’s experienced and additionally exploring how can understand anger differently and have a balanced, open experience of our anger.

Anger doesn’t have to control our lives, but when polarized, becomes a latent force that we suppress or conversely, we continually become dysregulated by experiences outside of our control.

Other subtopics I explore:

- My personal reflections around anger

- Emotions and the brain

- Secondary appraisal of emotions

- The role of anger

- Alchemizing anger

- The body and anger

- Brene Brown’s views on anger

- Working with protector parts/relationships

Song in intro- "Light of the Mountain" by Brandon Tilt

I acknowledge that I learn, grow and heal on the unceded ancestral lands of the Kwikwetlam first nation, the Stolo and the Tseil-Watuth first nations. These lands were never abandoned nor surrendered by those with the ancestral rights to steward and protect these lands.

I honor and respect the elders, the children, the land stewards, the land protectors, the medicine keepers, and the men and women of all indigenous nations.

Huy ch q’u (thank you) to those who support the indigenous communities and actively decolonize their minds and their spirits.

Aho Mitakuye Oyasin, All my relations.
