In this episode I actively apply “Parts work” to demonstrate how I work with my internal system, prompting an exploration of the Parts I’ve associated with my creative expression.
This episode takes on a format that is unlike any of my previous episodes and is a real demonstration of applying the IFS framework.
Working with Parts work requires a careful attunement to one’s bodily experience, a reliable routine of self care beforehand and for days that follow, and ideally is led by a trained facilitator.
However, as I demonstrate in this episode, if a person is experienced enough with the model and has built trust within their internal system they can actively explore their Parts, perhaps to learn more about them or other times simply allowing a space for their free expression.
Song in intro- "Light of the Mountain" by Brandon Tilt
I acknowledge that I learn, grow and heal on the unceded ancestral lands of the Kwikwetlam first nation, the Stolo and the Tseil-Watuth first nations. These lands were never abandoned nor surrendered by those with the ancestral rights to steward and protect these lands.
I honor and respect the elders, the children, the land stewards, the land protectors, the medicine keepers, and the men and women of all indigenous nations.
Huy ch q’u (thank you) to those who support the indigenous communities and actively decolonize their minds and their spirits.
Aho Mitakuye Oyasin, All my relations.
