Joel Bakan is an academic, university law professor, jazz musician, and filmmaker. In 2003, he co-wrote the documentary film The Corporation, which won over 25 awards internationally. 17 years later, he has written and co-directed a sequel The New Corporation: The Unfortunately Necessary Sequel. Joel talks about the controversial ruling that allowed corporations to be treated as people, minimum wage, the problems with philanthropic and disaster capitalism, government mistrust and how we need to re-frame the narrative.
