My love,
Every year, as soon as Halloween ends, I feel it — that quiet hum of panic in my body.
The shops change overnight (actually before Halloween this year), the pressure rises, and suddenly I’m scrolling through Black Friday sales convincing myself that the right candles or matching pyjamas will somehow make everything okay.
Babes, I already have a Christmas Tree…
If you’re divorced or co-parenting, you’ll know this feeling. Christmas touches every tender part of you:
✨ The grief of “how it used to be”✨ The pressure to make it magical✨ Negotiating who gets which days✨ The loneliness between the twinkly lights✨ The urge to spend money to avoid feelings
In this episode of the Magic Divorce Club Podcast…
I’m sharing ways to feel it all without letting your anxiety rule your life until New Year. I also talk about:
✨ Why Christmas anxiety hits differently after divorce✨ How your nervous system interprets Christmas as a threat✨ The pressure to “perform” motherhood✨ How the Metal element of autumn helps create clarity and calm✨ A simple acupressure point (Lung 9)✨ The grounding morning routine I’m using right now
If this is your first Christmas divorced or co-parenting, please know — nothing is wrong with you. Your body is responding to change, and there is a gentler way forward.
You can’t control Christmas —but you can shape how you meet it.
You can’t shop your way out of anxiety —but you can breathe your way into calm.
🎧 Listen to the Episode above (or watch below) or wherever you get your podcasts!
I’d love to hear what comes up for you, hit reply and tell me what resonated for you and if you already have a tree 🫠
You’ve got this. And I’ve got you.

PS Show notes for Ep 17: Anxiety after Divorce
1. 🌬 Breathing Practice to support anxiety
Holding the acupressure point Lung 9: On the palm side of your wrist, beneath the base of your thumb.
👉Hold with light pressure for 60 seconds each side.👉Breathe in for 4, out through the mouth for 6.
A tiny ritual for big emotions.
2. 🌅 Morning Routine Prompts
Lean into the element of Metal and ask Chat GPT to help you! Here are some possible prompts and don’t forget to add any specifics to your day that needs to be included:
* “Create a 30-minute morning routine for a divorcing mum feeling anxious.”
* “Write a morning practice inspired by RuPaul to help me feel fabulous and grounded.”
* “Design a routine using the Metal element to help me with clarity, letting go & setting boundaries.”
These little routines anchor your nervous system for the whole day - you get to choose joy over anxiety.
