Alan Alexander Milne, better known as AA Milne, was an English playwright and author. He wrote the Winnie the Pooh stories for his son, Christopher Robin Milne. The stories were inspired by a visit to the London Zoo, where they saw and loved a small black bear named Winnipeg. Winnie the Pooh was published in 1926.
