After all the political defeats from last year, the year I was just getting involved with local politics, it’s been extremely difficult for me to feel any kind of hope that things will change here in Missouri. I’ve felt a bit aimless and very defeated. I’ve spent much time in prayer, seeking the Holy Spirit’s guidance on what it is I’m supposed to be doing.

I had felt so passionate and determined that I really could help make change!

But after Amendment 3 passed (the constitutional “right” to abortion all 9 months of pregnancy, among other atrocities) my spirit was so crushed and I’ve struggled greatly to regain the hope and passion I once had.

And then last night, for the first time in several weeks, I felt a greater hope than I have in a while! A hope that can only come from the mercy of a Holy Father who cares deeply for His children!

I finally feel direction again and hope that change can still happen. Strategies need to change. Friends we once knew might no longer be trustworthy allies. But I believe the Lord is doing a mighty thing in our day and I am so grateful for the renewed hope and direction he has given me!

You might think that I should be more focused on “the church”. But here’s the thing…the Church was never meant to be confined to a building, the Church should be everywhere! We, THE CHURCH, should be taking Jesus into EVERY nook and cranny of our lives. We should not be “lighting a lamp and putting it under a basket” we should be “putting our light on a stand so it gives light to all in the house”. Honestly, it seems to me like the 4 walls of church have become “a basket”. And I think God is calling many people out into this new thing He is doing.

My hope is in my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. And while He chooses to keep me here it’s my responsibility to serve Him by going out into places that desperately need Truth and speaking that out loud.

I don’t know about you but I can’t think of a better place to start than government.

“Look among the nations, and see; wonder, and be astounded. For I am doing a work in your days that you would not believe if told.” -Habakkuk 1:5
