In this episode, I sit down with Mike and Amy from Act for Missouri to talk about the incredible work they are doing to make political engagement accessible, efficient, and practical for everyday Missourians.
If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by legislation, deal-making at the Capitol, or unsure how to make your voice heard — this episode is for you.
We also dive deep into the growing debate surrounding A3 (HJR73), equal protection/personhood bills (HJR109/SJR72), and how we can see abortion abolished in our lifetime.
On a personal note:In this episode, we mention several individuals who are publicly supporting A3 but have either declined or failed to respond to debate requests from Wes Scroggins of Abolish Abortion Missouri.
I want to be very clear about our intent.
The purpose of calling them out is not to shame, attack, or malign anyone. Our desire is accountability and clarity.
If leaders are confident that supporting A3 is the correct and most effective path forward, then many of us would genuinely welcome the opportunity to see that position defended in a respectful, substantive debate against the abolition viewpoint.
Open dialogue strengthens movements.Avoiding dialogue weakens trust.
Missourians deserve to hear both sides of this internal pro-life debate.
We encourage thoughtful, public, good-faith debate so citizens can make informed decisions.
Truth does not fear examination.
What Is Act for Missouri?
Act for Missouri exists to equip citizens with the tools they need to:
* Track legislation
* Monitor deal-making at the Capitol
* Take timely, strategic action
* Hold elected officials accountable
* Engage effectively — without needing to be a political insider
They’ve created streamlined systems so that regular citizens can understand what’s happening and know exactly when action is needed.
One of the most powerful tools we discussed is their newer dashboard.
The dashboard provides:
* Centralized access to all tools
* Real-time alerts
* Legislative tracking
* Easy pathways to take action
* Clear explanations of issues
It removes the confusion and makes engagement efficient.
Ways You Can Get Involved
1. Watchers from the Galleries
This initiative encourages citizens to:
* Attend legislative sessions
* Observe proceedings firsthand
* Maintain visibility and accountability at the Capitol
Presence matters. Legislators behave differently when citizens are watching.
You can find more details on their website about how to participate.
Join the Rapid Response Team to:
* Receive real-time alerts
* Be notified when key legislation is moving
* Know exactly when to call, email, or show up
Timing is critical in politics. This team ensures you don’t miss key moments.
When It Feels Discouraging…
We talked honestly about how discouraging it can feel when:
* Citizens seem disengaged
* Legislators appear to ignore the will of the people
* Momentum feels stalled
But we must remember:
“Duty is ours. Results are God’s.”
Faithfulness matters — even when outcomes are uncertain.
The A3 / HJR73 Debate
A major portion of our conversation focused on A3 (HJR73).
While it is being presented by some as a “pro-life” measure, many pro-lifers strongly oppose HJR73 because it includes exceptions for:
* Rape
* Incest
* Fetal anomaly
* Medical Emergencies
This has created significant division among pro-life advocates in Missouri.
The deeper issue:How can we vote to approve the killing of certain babies dependent on how they were conceived?
Equal Protection & Personhood Bills
We discussed why equal protection and personhood legislation continues to fail across the country.
Many argue the failure is not primarily because of the pro-abortion lobby — but because of resistance from establishment Right to Life organizations.
We highly recommend watching this series for more context and eye-opening information:
