Welcome back to True Assassins, the podcast that explores the dark world of history's most notorious killers! Today's episode is a twisted tale of revenge and poetic justice, the story of a Persian assassin so skilled, so ruthless, his name alone struck fear into the hearts of men. But even the most skilled predator can become the prey.

This is the story of The Hashashin, a man who lived for inflicting pain. He was a master of his craft, his victims reduced to whimpering shells before he even delivered the final blow. His reputation was as sharp as his blade, and his ambition knew no bounds. He set his sights on the ultimate prize - Alexander the Great.

But pride, as they say, comes before the fall. The Hashashin, overconfident and blinded by ambition, made a fatal mistake, and found himself captured by Alexander's men. Alexander, no stranger to cruelty himself, saw an opportunity. He wouldn't just kill the Hashashin. Oh no, he would make him suffer, turning the tables on the master of pain.

The Hashashin, once the architect of agony, became its victim. Alexander's men, guided by the emperor himself, became students of the Hashashin's own dark arts. They flayed his skin, broke his bones, and poisoned him with the very toxins he once used on others. His screams echoed through the Macedonian camp, a symphony of pain conducted by the man he had tried to kill.

Alexander wasn't done. He wanted to make an example of the Hashashin, to show everyone what happens when you cross the emperor. The execution was a public spectacle. The Persians, once terrified of the Hashashin, now watched with grim satisfaction as their tormentor suffered. The Hashashin's screams were drowned out by their cheers. Alexander stood above it all, a vengeful god reveling in the downfall of his enemy.

The story of the Hashashin is a reminder that even the most skilled killer can become the victim. It's a tale of ambition, pride, and ultimately, poetic justice.
