Description

August has been Bestie Month here at The Mediocre Black Woman, and this week y’all get to meet thee bestie—the one I voice note with on the daily, Goddess Jasmine of Housewife Turned Healer.

This episode is giving “stop playing with me before I write about you” energy 😂. Not because anybody’s out here taking notes with revenge in mind, but because sometimes the stories are just too funny, too wild, and too relatable not to share.

And trust me, those voice notes with Jasmine are basically mini-podcasts already—10 to 20 minutes of rants, revelations, and ridiculous laughter. That’s exactly what this episode feels like: a bestie voice note you get to eavesdrop on.

We get into it all—✨ breaking cycles of being “played with” in relationships and friendships✨ sacred rage and the grief stages that come when you finally choose yourself✨ the audacity of exes (with no horse, no boom box, no baby bleeding—just vibes 🙄)✨ friendship breakups that sting just as much as romantic ones✨ and the power of discernment when opening your heart or your home

But underneath the jokes and side eyes is something sacred: Black women finally centering ourselves not out of spite, but out of self-respect, divine timing, and deep love for who we’re becoming.

This one is close to my heart. Jasmine has been walking with me through this whole TMBW journey, and to share this space with her feels like a full-circle moment. May you hear yourself in our stories, may you laugh with us, and may you feel less alone in your own sacred shifts.

Drop your favorite moment in the comments—and then send this episode to your bestie, because y’all know healing hits different when you don’t do it alone.

xoxo,

Goddess Thea
