Description

Neighbors, this podcast offers some background for an upcoming book I’m sharing out for people to build beloved communities of resistance in their own zip codes. This particular episode explains to frames: a weak fascist frame and a larger pro-life frame that offers every person dignity and redemption.

In particular I define two concepts. First, I need to help you stop being afraid of fascism because, in a way, many of us have seen this before. This is domestic abuse on a national scale, and to bring this point home, I have remixed the wheel of power and control (used in domestic violence survivor spaces) to demonstrate how what we are being subjected to is national abuse at scale.

Here’s my remixed wheel of power and control below. Do keep in mind that I explain the graphic in the podcast, so give it a listen.

If the wheel of power and control is a fascist frame, the frame below, depicted as a daisy, explains how we can combat fascism by getting into these daisy formations. Each of these nineteen petals describes something the fascists are trying to take away from us, and the goal of the Daisy Chain revolution is to pool resources together to refuse to let these b******s grind us down. We see what the are trying to do: create mass suffering and despair so that we are easier to control and less likely to resist. If you and your neighbors get into the daisy formation, we unsettle the tyrant’s power by refusing to play their games and, instead, turning toward one another— being proactive instead of reactive.

If you’ve like to hear what each petal does, listen to the podcast. It gives you an overview.

Your assignment, should you choose to accept it, is:

* Share this podcast with people in your neighborhood.

* Meet up over food and make a list of people who you might recruit to become a part of each one of these pods.

* Don’t worry if you don’t have everyone yet. Treat it like a scavenger hunt for cool neighbors. If you build it, they will come. This is just a first step.

In the meantime, I’m gonna keep writing this booklet, but I wanted to give you a little heads up for how you might prepare. Hope this helps.

And if you’re looking for a recruitment flyer, I’ve already got the hookup for you. Use the one below— just fill out the date, time, and place. I highly recommend setting up a first meeting at a library. Bring food to share. It takes a village to fight domestic abusers.
