Recorded in the home office of Chateau’ Relaxo.

Sorry, no episodes since the September crazy travel roundup it’s been really busy the last 30 days.

Hears a few updates to open the episode with -

In episode 177 I mentioned that during a recent road trip I noticed that two of the three Hilton hotels that I bunked at had Peleton bikes in their fitness centers. Drum roll please - Hilton and Peloton Team Up to Enhance the Travel Wellness Experience.

This is an industry‑first partnership, all 5,400 U.S. Hilton‑branded hotels to feature Peloton in fitness centers.

As one that has planned my hotel stays based on the fitness center or the hotel providing access to a nearby gym I can appreciate this.

Do you know who else appreciates this? Peloton. As big as the Church of Peloton is Peloton has been struggling financially. From a stock price high of $162.00 in January of 2021 to last week's close of $8.00 per share.

I’m not a Peloton disciple, I almost joined the Church of Peloton until I saw the cost to join the Church of Peloton combined with the monthly offering for the app it was too rich for my blood.

However next time  I see one in a Hilton fitness center I will give it a try.

Hopefully, the Peloton will hold up the abuse of a hotel fitness center.

Another update from Episode 177, remember  Hend Bustami? In case you don’t…….Hend was arrested for reportedly skipping out on her Chili’s tab inside the Harry Reid International Airport The icing on the cake was that Hend told officers she was under arrest because she was so good-looking.

Hopefully, Hend will still be good-looking in an orange jumpsuit because…. Here’s the update…..Hend has been arrested for murder, the murder of her mother.

Since Hend is a fan of Chili’s I hope she finds prison food to her liking.

Here’s the first entry into this month's “I’m a mallethead” contest.

From the Jerusalem Post - Israeli passenger sets toilet on fire during El Al flight to Bangkok.

In case you didn’t know  - You can’t smoke on planes.

And probably one of the reasons you can’t smoke on a plane is that you just might set the toilet on fire.

The incident took place on a flight that took off from Tel Aviv., A passenger who probably wanted to smoke without being detected threw a cigarette butt into the trash can in the toilet compartment - but the cigarette ignited the toilet paper inside, which caused both the trash can and the toilet to catch fire.

The smoke detector went off and the flight crew immediately extinguished the fire.

Now if this had happened in the United States, a toilet fire on an inflight airplane, that plane would've been on the ground before the proverbial smoke had cleared and that would’ve been followed by at least a four-hour flight delay.

That’s not how it's done overseas - The plane that was mid-flight at the time of the incident continued on its path as planned until it landed in Bangkok despite the fire.

This comes to us from Harsha wears a mask over at Twitter. - Best part of today’s flight

@AmericanAir   the captain of the flight is so magnanimous that he ordered us all pizzas as we have been stuck on the flight @fly_BUR  for over 6 hours and we never departed because of some complicated routing issues.

Not all heroes wear capes, case and point this American Airlines pilot.

American Airlines flight 1208 from Burbank to Dallas was delayed due to weather in Dallas (DFW is known to stand for Doesn’t Function Wet.)

A 6-hour weather delay? Maybe I should rethink my previous story - a toilet fire on an inflight domestic airplane that’s a solid 8-hour delay,

If there are any pilots listening and thinking of doing the same good deed…. Dominos has slashed their prices by 20%

Our first “Thank You Florida Story” - Miami Man Blames Altitude For Poor Behavior On United Airlines Flight, Not His Regular Consumption Of Mushrooms from Live and Let’s Fly.

A Miami man, Cherruy Garcia Sevilla, age 23 took magic mushrooms and then allegedly groped an air stewardess and broke into an occupied toilet on the flight has blamed his crazed attack on the altitude.

Cherruy Garcia Sevilla, 23, was arrested after traveling from Miami to Washington on October 4 when a dose of magic mushrooms that he had taken kicked in, sending him into the aforementioned incident.

I’m not a magic mushroom enthusiast so I can’t speak to their effects. However, I’ve been on an S-Ton of flights and I don’t ever recall anyone getting altitude sickness…. It probably has something to do with those pressurized cabins.

One more Thank you Florida story from Live and Let’s Fly - American Airlines Flight Forced to Divert After Woman Screams ‘We’re All Gonna Die!

Flight 1295 left Miami and was headed for Los Angeles but was diverted to El Paso after a woman stood up and told everyone on the plane they were all about to die and must “repent,” according to a passenger who witnessed the episode.

After that, the woman remained silent. Flight attendants were able to restrain the woman and place flex cuffs on her.

One flight attendant asked her if she “needed” to get off the plane and when she responded affirmatively, the plane began a rapid descent into El Paso, Texas (ELP).

From Yahoo News - Flight attendant charged with stealing $8,000 bracelet from TSA line

A woman identified as a Republic Airways flight attendant was arrested Monday at Reagan National Airport after authorities said she took a passenger's bracelet set from a Transportation Security Administration checkpoint.

Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority said Rebecca Valley, 60, of Wesley Chapel, Fla., Thank you Florida, works for the regional carrier and was charged with one count of grand larceny. The owner of the jewelry reported that it was valued at $8,000, Nosal said.

Here’s a quick travel tip -  place items such as wallets, phones or large pieces of jewelry in your carry-on bag, not a bin, Also laptops should be easily identifiable with a business card or some type of sticker.

From BoingBoing - Pilot sues Southwest after co-pilot allegedly locked her in the cockpit and took off his clothes

Christine Janning, a Southwest pilot, filed a lawsuit last week in Orange County, Florida, over an incident that took place in August 2020.

Michael Haak, a 27-year veteran of the airline, had used his seniority rights the previous day to bump another pilot who had been scheduled to command the flight. Janning believes that's because he saw a woman was the scheduled co-pilot.

Janning said that when they reached cruising altitude, Haak told her this was his final flight and there was something he wanted to do before retirement.

She said he bolted the door so no flight attendant could enter. He then put the plane on autopilot, stripped off his clothes, began watching pornography on his laptop, and committed a lewd act for 30 minutes while taking photos and videos of himself. …

What a Creepy McCreeperton, took look at a schedule so you’re flying with a female. To top that Haak called the incident "a consensual prank" that got out of hand.

Here’s this month's PSA….. Women do not want to see random dudes' junk, they don’t want pictures of random dudes' junk and they don’t want to see random dudes touching their junk. If they do they'll probably let you know.

Our last Thank you Florida story - From 7 News Miami, American Airlines plane evacuated after strange odor fills cabin.

Dateline - MIAMI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, FLA. (WSVN) - An American Airlines flight had to return to Miami International Airport after an odor filled the cabin during the flight.

It was a scare in the air for 172 passengers on their way to Barbados, as they had to be turned around back to Miami International Airport just before 9 p.m., Wednesday, October 12th

“Coming in with toxic fumes coming from a passenger suitcase,” an official said on Broadcastify.

This is where I fully expected the culprit to be….. Durian, but that wasn’t the case.

The plane landed at 9 p.m. and was taken to what is referred to the penalty box so first responders could deal with the issue and get everyone off the plane.

“A smell came into the cabin, maybe midway through the flight. It smelled like nail polish. It was really strong,” said one passenger.

In a statement, American Airlines said they had to deplane all passengers.

“Due to a chemical odor in the cabin caused by the contents of a customer’s carry-on luggage. The aircraft landed safely and without incident, and customers deplaned normally,” read the statement.

So you're telling me that cabin air isn’t always fresh and filtered from the outside like we were told during the height of the pandemic.

Hertz has recently been in the news with stories of lost cars, Flashy reporting cars as stolen going as far as sending people to jail that never rented cars from Hertz.

The people are fighting back - Man sues after Hertz rental leads to ‘surreal’ traffic stop.

Police had their weapons drawn as they ordered Nick Wright and his 13-year-old daughter to put their hands on the hood of the car they had rented less than an hour earlier.

Wright and his daughter were on vacation and had just landed at Savannah airport. They’d rented the car about 30 minutes before officers stopped them.

“This is what happens when the rental company doesn’t clear a stolen license plate vehicle from the national database. Yep! That just happened.” Wright said during a video he recorded after the incident.

Wright added - “They told us ‘Do not drive this car out of this parking lot. Make Hertz come and pick it up and bring you a new one because if you get out on the highways it may not go well for you,’”

Wright is one of the hundreds suing Hertz over mental and emotional damages after they were arrested — sometimes jailed — based on police reports labeling the cars stolen.

Hertz this has been going on a bit too long. You’ve had plenty of time to resolve your software issues…. Maybe it’s time for a new CIO.
