Listen

Description

Hey all! We have broken up this episode into two parts. We are doubling down on Afghanistan this week.

Last week, we talked about a $540 million Chinese investment into Afghanistan gone wrong. Have a listen to it if you haven’t to get up to speed.

If you’ve watched what is happening in the news you have maybe seen the words “commitment” “disbursement” “multilateral” and “bilateral” in the news when countries and NGOs are talking about relief packages. We do a quick dive into what foreign aid is and how it gets to a country in need after a disaster.

We also go into the basic logistics of how aid is organized in a terrible situation, who is involved (and who isn’t) in helping Afghanistan recover from the earthquake and what they are doing.

Don’t miss part 2, where we talk about the implications, moral hazards, and a few hypotheticals in there as well!

Thanks for listening and don’t forget to leave us a review or a comment! We sincerely appreciate it.
