Psst: Secret Oklahoma is HERE!

This past weekend, we introduced our brand new book on a mini tour of Route 66, with signings in Tulsa and El Reno — incidentally, Nathan’s two hometowns. The reception has been amazing, and it feels especially apt to debut this book, all about the “weird, wonderful, and obscure” of Oklahoma, along its most iconic byway. This book was such a joy to write, and it’s a fun, fascinating read, no matter where you’re living. Ahead of the Route 66 Centennial next year, Secret Oklahoma is a road map to the state’s quirkier side, which we hope you take the time to slow down and explore.

In this episode, we talk more about our times in Tulsa and El Reno, including our love for onion burgers and our hatred for A.I. You can find more book events here, and order a signed copy of Secret Oklahoma directly from me here, as well as at the link in my Instagram bio (buying books directly is the best way to support authors and writers).

Special thank you to Mary Beth Babcock and Meadow Gold Mack in Tulsa, as well as The Filling Station in El Reno, for having us.

Thank you for reading, following, and listening!

With Pride,

Matt and Nathan

Thank you for following The Gay Lane. To support independent queer creators, please consider subscribing or making a donation. We take great Pride in authenticity and originality, and that means going the extra mile — or thousands of miles — to celebrate queer culture in unexpected places. This may sound simple, but it takes a great deal of intentional effort, time, and resources to bring this to life with the quality and care that we believe it deserves. Your support makes all the difference.
