A few years back, I went on a vacation with a group of friends to Pondicherry. There was one girl in that group who was studying to become a nutritionist and was about to complete her Masters degree. It was a 2 day trip and now normally when I am on a vacation, I cheat on my food and eat the local cuisine or visit different cafes. Because it was Pondicherry, we ended up eating a lot of pizza and junk food.

Now on day 2, we visited the Aurobindo ashram and got a bit late in eating our lunch- it was almost 4pm. I know my body well and that if I end up eating something difficult to digest or spicy food after my regular lunch hours, I can get very bloated. The girl whom i mentioned earlier who is a nutritionist ended up eating a plate of noodles and some pizza. After 2 hours she started feeling indigestion and had to pop some pills because of that- she already had a wide array of digestive and stomach pills with her ready in the bag.

Now, the reason what I am mentioning here- is that being a physiotherapist myself I realized that if i want to be educating people on the correct lifestyle choices and staying healthy, i should myself be fit and look after my own health. More than anything, i should be knowing my own body very well and what suits me or what does not.

I did not want to judge that girl but this was a pretty important lesson which i learnt at that time and it sticks with me every time I DONT move my body or skip one day of working out. Since 2-3 years I have been experimenting with different things to see what suits my body and i have finally found my own mojo, what works well for my body. Still, it is a learning process and trying out different things is always a part of it.

But since it took me almost 3 years to really figure out what to exactly eat or do for my body, I don’t wish the same for anyone else. The aim behind creating this Lifestyle Program is to make sure that i explain the concepts well to the ones who attend it and make them INDEPENDENT in curating a healthy lifestyle for themselves.
