Description

A. Laura Brody is a costume designer, sculptor, and creator of Opulent Mobility, an artistic movement that re-envisions disability and mobility devices as mythical and elegant works of art, often larger than life. Her theatrical approach comes from her roots as a theatrical costume designer, and her advocacy comes from real-life experience with how physically disabled people are hidden from our awareness because we don't have the imagination to do things differently. A. Laura Brody contemplates the alchemical concept of the IMAGINATION, which is always asking "What if things were different? What if earlier limitations don't need to exist? What new thing wants to happen? How can I make things better for everyone? Etc."

Note to the rest of us: What is getting in the way of our imagination?
