We have three members of the We Are Superman Leadville 10 Warriors group who in March participated in our run at the Land Between the Lakes race in western Kentucky, all with inspirational stories to tell.
First is Packer Wilson of Oklahoma. Packer is waiting for a kidney transplant. In the meantime, he hooks up to a dialysis machine for eight hours every night. Despite that, Packer completed the half-marathon wearing a shirt that reads “Running for a Kidney.” He is blood type O+ and you can help him on Instagram at #gotakidney Packer is planning, transplant or not, to run the Georgia Death Race in 2022, much to the, ahem, delight, of his wife Danielle. Definitely don’t count out this tough hombre…
Next we have Marian Cosgrove, who hosted and organized our Land Between the Lakes event, housing and all, and one of the genuinely nicest people you’ll want to meet. Marian is our connoisseur of all things meditation, and she will tell you her amazing story about losing her way but eventually getting sober and grabbing an opportunity to join the police force in Murray, Kentucky, where she has received multiple awards for the her compassionate approach to law enforcement.
Last but not least we have one of our newest, and more effusive, members, Taby Rubio-Moulier, who drive to Kentucky all the way from York, Pa. As you’ll hear, Taby finally decided it was time to make a change in her life, joined the We Are Superman Leadville Ten Warriors, and having never run more than a 5K before, completed the half-marathon. An incredible feat! We are looking forward to seeing what she accomplishes moving forward!
