Bayerische Staatsoper launched Shanghai residency last night by presenting Wagner’s Der fliegende Holländer in a production directed by Peter Konwitschny.
A dozen students from Shanghai, most playing piccolos, participated into the orchestra and joined the curtain call.
The performance was conducted by GMD Vladimir Jurowski.
