In this exposition of Judges 4, Kenny confronts the cycle of human wandering from God, drawing sobering parallels from history’s theological drifts to our own godless tendencies today. The message unveils three stark indicators of spiritual decay: forfeiting divine blessing through repeated evil patterns and forgotten leaders; suffering under passive, timid leadership that inverts God-ordained roles (as seen in Deborah’s judgeship and Barak’s hesitation); and binding with unholy allies that amplify wickedness. Yet amid the gore and irony—from Jael’s tent-peg victory echoing Genesis 3:15—God emerges as the true Deliverer, using the weak and foolish to crush oppression and point forward to Christ’s ultimate head-crushing triumph over sin. Are we pursuing godliness, discipling our households, and ministering to the hurting—or passively drifting into the same vicious cycle?
