This sermon was originally delivered at Emmanuel Chinese Baptist Church in Overland Park, KS, on August 27th, 2023.
In this sobering exposition of Matthew 25:31–46—the Sheep and the Goats—Kenny caps the Olivet Discourse with Jesus’ stark vision of final judgment: the Son of Man enthroned, separating righteous sheep (destined for eternal life) from accursed goats (bound for eternal fire) based on treatment of “the least of these my brothers” (persecuted believers). He confronts modern aversion to hell’s reality, linking good works to election’s fruit—general revelation condemns all, but special revelation through gospel-sharing saves the elect. Amid warnings of unrepentant torment, Kenny offers hope: Christ returns to renew all, vanquish enemies, and fulfill promises. He urges Christians to hope in sovereignty, non-believers to submit in repentance, and the church to seek lost sheep through evangelism.
