Explore the haunting legacy of Lake Pleasant, one of America’s oldest Spiritualist communities, in this rare 1980s documentary by Louise Shattuck. Featuring atmospheric footage of weathered cottages, overgrown paths, and iconic meeting spaces, this film captures the faded grandeur of a once-thriving hub for séances, mediumship, and metaphysical exploration in Massachusetts. Discover the rise of the Lake Pleasant Spiritualist Community in the 1870s, its role in American Spiritualism, and its quiet decline into a poignant “ghost town” of the spirit world. A must-watch for those interested in Spiritualism, occult history, alternative religion, and forgotten places, this documentary preserves a unique chapter of New England’s esoteric heritage.#LakePleasant #Spiritualism #SpiritualistCommunity #Mediumship #Séance #MassachusettsHistory #NewEnglandHistory #GhostTown #Documentary #1980s #LouiseShattuck #OccultHistory #Metaphysical #AbandonedPlaces #HauntedHistory #ForgottenHistory #AmericanReligion #MontagueMA #PsychicHistory #SpiritCommunication
