Description

Greetings friends and welcome to the Threshold Experience. This is a series of audio-visual meditations meant to facilitate your passage from the world of appearances, through the liminal space that has been described as the thin veil, to eventually emerge into a realm beyond time and space. The sounds and images are meant to take you out of your familiar disposition and transport you into a hypnogogic mode of consciousness. This is a liminal mode of consciousness whereby parts of your mind and body will remain completely conscious, while other parts are freed to explore the deepest subconscious and highest subconscious parts of your mind. During this first orientation session there will be no spoken guidance. The sounds you will hear include: binaural tones whereby two slightly varying tones are played in each ear to establish a sync between hemispheres of the brain, white noise, and the Silva Mind Control method alpha and theta sounds to produce a feeling of relaxation. In addition, drones are used to establish a harmonic convergence. These include the Hu chant, an ancient name for God used by ancient Egyptians, Sufis, Druids and the modern day group Eckankar, and tanpuras, a traditional Indian instrument. Synthesizer and guitar music is also provided for melodic convergence. Though these sounds are meant to guide you into your inner chamber and shut the door to the distractions of the world, an experienced meditator can accomplish this state with only silence. The visuals are drawn from a variety of sources. They contain strobe-like effects that, without naming a diagnosis or any specific symptoms, should be viewed at one’s own risk. My hope is that these meditations will serve as a bridge for those who have found difficulty meditating in traditional ways. The best method to use these meditations is to listen with stereophonic headphones and to watch on your television screen with the lights off. Depending on the brightness of your TV, you may wish to practice this with eyes open or closed. Though future threshold experiences will require more concentrated focus, this first orientation meditation can be watched in the background and returned to again and again whenever you may feel you need alignment.
