Jesus said nations will be judged by how we treat the poor, and the US Constitution offers a moral grid that allows Americans to judge any policy according to whether it establishes justice and promotes the general welfare. Too often, our public conversations about what matters most in an election don’t center the voices of the people most directly impacted by bad public policy. We are grateful for sister Pam Garrison, whose lived experience anchored this conversation, and this panel of powerful women who added their expertise to amplify her clarion call.
