We must beware of self-dramatized speculations of over "spiritualizing“ the blood of Jesus. This has often been a result of taking Old Testament elements and pushing them beyond their pictorial pre-figuring and thus developing one's theology around vague speculations. The truth is, the sacrificial elements of blood in the Old Testament are fulfilled in Jesus Christ – He became all the elements and blood correlations. Blood of Jesus is foundational in the redemption process of salvation, as in the final Lamb of sacrifice – since redemption requires a blood payment.
