It is important to note that it is not necessarily the physical death that is the most important feature of Christ's death. Jesus incurred all of the death consequences that occurred in Adam. Beyond the physical death we must see the spiritual death wherein Jesus cried, "My God, My God, why hast Thou forsake Me?" (Matthew 27:46).
