It is estimated that over 150,000 apps have been designed and aimed at this generation – making claims that their apps are increasing the educational paradigm. Even though these apps may be offering deeper involvement in learning and quicker response time to logic, researchers are proving that device dependence retards social skills, while forming an unhealthy dependence. Researchers have also noted that Generation Z prefers devices over relationships, meaning, the lack of ability to self-regulate phone usage hinders the child in interpersonal development.
