The name Jesus means "Savior." It is the same name as Joshua in the Old Testament. It is given to our Lord because "He saves His people from their sins." Christ is the All-Powerful Lord. Nothing is beyond His reach or impossible for Him. Jesus was at the beginning of creation and will be there to the end. He is both the author of all that is and the One who sees His creation through the end-times. Christ is the Beloved Son of the Father, and as such, the desire of all people who love God. All who truly love God will be drawn to Jesus – He is the magnet of Salvation.
