Words seem small, but we use them constantly to describe ourselves and what we think is possible.
“I can’t.”
“I’m not ready.”
“It’s too difficult.”
“I always fail.”
Sometimes those statements are true.
Sometimes they’re useful.
Sometimes they might even push us into action.
But sometimes we repeat them so often that they stop being descriptions and start becoming instructions.
In this episode, I’m looking at the effect negative language can have on the way we think, what we attempt, and what we quietly rule out before we even begin.
This isn’t about fake positivity or pretending everything is fine.
It’s about paying attention to the words we use and asking whether they’re helping us see the situation clearly — or narrowing our options.
The question I’m left with is:
What negative phrase do you keep repeating — and what is it actually doing to you?
Need help thinking something through?
