Description

Happy New Year — and welcome to the first episode of Healthy Voice Notes on podcast platforms!

In this voice note, I go deeper on a topic from my recent video: the difference between grief and victimhood.

Grief is normal. Complex trauma may never fully go away. But victimhood is when you start to enjoy the grief — when you romanticize the sadness.

I also share something personal about my dad, a Vietnam veteran, and why I still cry when I play the MASH theme song on my piano.

Growing up with a Vietnam vet parent meant silence. We didn't talk about it. And I've never seen anyone address what that was like for our generation.

My hope is that by sharing my story, I'll help others find somewhere to go with theirs.
