Description

In this brief update, I outline the strategy we’re developing to challenge the latest wave of visa denials under Trump’s 212(f) proclamation. Families separated by this order should know two things:

* Don’t panic — this will not last. The proclamation rests on incredibly weak and specious readings of the law.

* We have a path forward — federal litigation is likely to be necessary, but Congress and the Constitution are on our side.

Asylum law explicitly guarantees that spouses and children of asylees may join them in safety. No executive order can lawfully erase that right. At Charles International Law, we are honored to stand with Afghan patriots in this fight and are building a litigation strategy to reunite families who should never have been divided in the first place.
