Description

Good morning. It’s Tuesday, September 2nd, and this is the record🗞️.Today’s show is about power, secrets, and the alliances that shape the world. From Trump surfacing after a week of silence to lawmakers pushing to release the Epstein files, to Giuliani’s fall and Putin’s parade of strongmen in Beijing—This isn’t just politics. It’s a mirror of the systems we’re forced to live under. And the cracks are showing.

So here we go.🗞️ 1: Trump resurfaces with DoD “announcement” (00:00:38)What’s happening:Donald Trump will make a Department of Defense–related announcement at 2pm ET today, his first public appearance since last Tuesday’s cabinet meeting. On Truth Social, he called Chicago “the worst and most dangerous city,” promising to fix it quickly as he claimed to have done in D.C., and took aim at Governor JB Pritzker for “needing help badly.”What to know:The announcement and rhetoric come amid renewed speculation about Trump’s health after a week without press appearances. My take:Trump’s absences—and the way his reappearances are staged—say as much as his words. Silence, then spectacle. That’s the playbook.

🗞️ 2: Epstein files push in Congress (00:02:04)What’s happening:Representatives Thomas Massie and Ro Khanna will hold a news conference with survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse, backing a discharge petition to force a House vote on releasing the Epstein files. What to know:This comes as congressional fallout intensifies, with pressure building for transparency around who enabled Epstein and how deep the coverups went.My take:If lawmakers need survivors standing beside them to force transparency, that says everything about the rot in this system. The truth is being held hostage—again.

🗞️ 3: Trump to award Giuliani the Medal of Freedom (00:02:58)What’s happening:Trump announced he will award Rudy Giuliani the Presidential Medal of Freedom, praising him as “the greatest mayor in the history of New York City.” This comes days after Giuliani was injured in a car crash, and years after his downfall: disbarment, criminal charges, and defamation judgments tied to Trump’s 2020 election push.

What to know:Giuliani isn’t just disgraced politically — he’s also facing serious personal allegations. In 2023, his former associate Noelle Dunphy filed a lawsuit accusing him of sexual assault, harassment, wage theft, and even attempting to sell presidential pardons for millions. The complaint described forced sexual encounters, racist and antisemitic remarks, and a hostile work environment. Giuliani has denied the claims. And in a separate allegation, former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson wrote in her memoir that Giuliani groped her under her skirt backstage at the January 6 rally. He denies that too.Put together, the allegations paint a picture not of a fallen hero but of a man shielded by power until it cracked.

My take:Medals don’t erase history. They rewrite it. And Trump isn’t rewarding “America’s Mayor.” He’s rewarding loyalty — no matter how deep the corruption or how dark the allegations.

🗞️ 4: Putin, Xi, and Kim show unity in Beijing (00:04:55)What’s happening:Russian president Vladimir Putin hailed ties with China as at their “highest level in history” during talks with Xi Jinping in Beijing, joined by North Korea’s Kim Jong Un. They signed new energy deals, coordinated regional policies, and positioned themselves as united against U.S. dominance—before appearing together at a massive military parade. What to know:This trilateral display of strength is about more than symbolism—it’s a realignment of power away from U.S. global influence. My take:While Americans argue over party politics, authoritarian leaders are building alliances. That silence you hear from the mainstream press? It’s complicity.

🧠 gut check (00:06:00–00:11:00)If today feels heavy, it’s because the stories are. Power is being hoarded. Survivors are still fighting for their voices. Leaders reward loyalty over truth. And outside our borders, autocrats are holding military parades. The through line? Silence protects power. Truth threatens it.
