On Sunday, I’ll be hosting a conversation that requires diplomacy, curiosity, and restraint.
I’ll be interviewing someone living in the United States who is originally from Venezuela and who feels positively about how the current administration is working. I want to be clear. I disagree. But I’m not entering the conversation to change his opinion, overtalk him, or score points.
He has experienced real trauma in his own country. That matters.
I believe people have the right to share their stories. I believe listening does not equal agreement. And I believe understanding begins when we slow down enough to hear one another fully even when we don’t walk away aligned.
This isn’t about winning an argument.It’s about making space for humanity.
