Description

Conversations with Gwen explores big ideas which are changing, or have the potential to change, public policy and how we live. While ideas are valuable for their own sake, these conversations explore ideas not only as abstract fascination but for their ability to help us live better.

What if free will is an illusion? What would that mean for society, morality, meaning, and the law? In our first episode, Gwen tackles these topics with American philosopher Gregg Caruso, whose recent book "Just Deserts" — which he co-authored with the philosopher Daniel Dennett — introduces the concepts central to the debate about free will and moral responsibility.
