Revolution Wind’s 704 MW is projected to save Connecticut and Rhode Island ratepayers up to $500 million annually. Five major East Coast offshore wind projects are now operational or nearing completion, all having survived the same campaign of obstruction. The infrastructure outlasted the resistance.
The U.S. Army signed a 10-year contract worth up to $20 billion with Anduril today, consolidating more than 120 separate procurement actions into a single enterprise deal. The Pentagon’s Chief Technology Officer framed it directly: the modern battlefield is defined by software, and the military must acquire capability at the speed of software. The contract represents a structural shift from fragmented contracting toward platform relationships with companies purpose-built for defense - integrating autonomous drones, aircraft, submarines, and unified software systems under one arrangement. At xAI, two more senior cofounders departed this week, including the lead on Grok pre-training, as SpaceX and Tesla managers audit staff and morale deteriorates. The contrast is sharp: one organization building integrated capability through deliberate architecture, another discovering that parachuting managers from adjacent industries cannot replicate the research culture that frontier development requires.
Houston Methodist researchers published a finding in *Nucleic Acids Research* identifying TDP43 - already known to malfunction in ALS and frontotemporal dementia - as a regulator of DNA mismatch repair, placing a single protein at the intersection of neurodegeneration and cancer. Separately, University of Barcelona scientists announced FLAV-27, a first-in-class epigenetic compound that reversed Alzheimer’s cognitive decline in multiple animal models by reprogramming neuronal gene expression rather than targeting amyloid plaques. And Waaree Energies broke ground on a 10 GW integrated solar ingot and wafer manufacturing facility in Nagpur - India’s largest - as part of a deliberate strategy to own the full photovoltaic value chain domestically rather than depend on imports.
