The Energy Information Administration projected today that data center demand growth could drive wholesale electricity prices in Texas up 79% by 2027 under a high-demand scenario, while PPL Electric filed a rate case settlement establishing a regulatory template for how utilities absorb that pressure: minimum 10-year agreements for large loads, full interconnection cost absorption, and $11 million annually in low-income energy assistance.
