I’m gonna offend a lot of people with this podcast. So be it. For years now I’ve encountered too many people in the church embroiled in beliefs and debates that are useless to the actual lives of Believers, including their own.
Not a one of us believes exactly the same way about life, Scripture, end times, you name it. Our access to the Internet, education and our independent natures have shattered any homogenized views of a spiritual life. And that’s ok.
It’s time to keep the main thing the main thing. Is it commanded of G-d? Is it in the Bible? Is it useful to the Believer’s walk? Before you go dumpster diving into divisive discussions online or before you walk out of your current church, take a moment and ask, is it worth it?
With so many of our man-made doctrines and beliefs, I say, life is too short. With many people will come many views and many ways of living and within G-d’s contexts we need to be patient with that. Great discussions are welcome. Divisiveness over the topics I discuss here and other gray areas, this is where the Adversary can do real damage.
Too many people have left churches over divisiveness regarding issues that are unnecessary to the Believer’s walk, lifestyle or even understanding. Maybe we need to start asking better questions about why and where we get offended and what really matters. If we could unify over G-d’s action items and be ok with variety regarding end times studies, etc., we could likely have a powerful impact as a church in the west. But just like the political psyops we are discovering, the enemy has his own powerful psyops keeping Believers entangled in useless conflicts and doctrines while the world burns.
I guess I’ve just seen enough. You likely have your own list of time spent uselessly. Get it out and start crossing off the areas where you’re done with divisiveness and ready to get back to making disciples and teaching obedience. I’ll try to do the same.
Love ya,
Rachel
