It doesn't get any easier for the Athens Hornets.
Athens faced then No. 5-ranked Kilgore last week, and the Hornets gave the Bulldogs a run for their money before coming up short at the end, 28-21.
"We've shown that we can play with the top teams in the state," said Athens Coach Zac Harrell. "Kilgore is one of the best teams in the State of Texas."

The Hornets will get another chance to prove themselves against a top team this week when they welcome the No. 8 Chapel Hill Bulldogs. Chapel Hill brings a 7-1, 3-1 record into Friday night, while the Hornets have a 5-3, 2-2 record.
Chapel Hill boasts more than 10 players with DI offers, according to Coach Harrell.
"They're extremely talented; that's the first thing that jumps out at you," he said.
The one thing the Hornets showed last week is that they can run the ball against good teams. Jaxson Stiles and Jamauri Manning combined for 177 yards on 42 carries, and Athens controlled the clock behind a great effort by its offensive line.
"It's going to be the same (this week)," said Coach Harrell. "If our offensive line will play physical and do their job and focus, I think we'll move the ball."
Friday night will be Senior Night for Athens High School, with seniors from the football team and the band, Stingerettes, Bell Guard, cheerleaders, trainers, and others recognized.
"Senior night is always a special night," said Coach Harrell. "To honor them and thank them for the countless hours that they have put into being about something more than themselves.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
