Notre Dame couldn’t close the gap late as SMU pulled away for the win Tuesday night in Dallas. Len Clark reports.
SMU went on a 14-0 run in the second half, combine that with a three and half minute Notre Dame scoring draught as the Mustangs pulled away late to defeat Notre Dame 89–81. The difference came on the glass, where the Mustangs outrebounded the Irish 38–26, and at the free-throw line, hitting 12 of 16. The Irish have lost five straight and fall to 11–14 overall and 2–10 in the ACC. They return home Saturday to host Georgia Tech. Len Clark, Network Indiana.
