Notre Dame will be without starting center Ashton Craig, who has been sidelined for the rest of the season with a knee injury. Len Clark reports.
Stepping in for Craig is Joe Otting, a young lineman who will make his first start under the bright lights against USC. Otting was called upon to replace Craig in the third quarter in last week’s win against NC State. Coaches say Otting brings energy and toughness, while teammates trust him to keep communication strong up front. It’s the next man up mentally as the Irish look to maintain rhythm and protection for freshman quarterback C.J. Carr and the Notre Dame offense. Len Clark, Network Indiana.
