Just days after Notre Dame was left out of the College Football Playoff, head coach Marcus Freeman is earning national recognition, while the university continues to question how the process unfolded. Len Clark has more.
For the second straight year Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman has been named a finalist for the Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year Award. Freeman guided the Irish to a 10–2 regular season and one of the most dominant 10-game win streaks in college football over the last five years. Notre Dame finished in the top-20 nationally in nearly every major statistical category. Meanwhile, Athletic Director Pete Bevacqua held a press conference and called the Irish’s College Football Playoff snub “a gut punch.” Notre Dame will now evaluate bowl participation on a yearly basis.
