Despite a 49-20 win over Stanford last Saturday, the Fighting Irish dropped one spot in the latest College Football Playoff poll from #9 to #10. In this scenario, the Irish would travel to College Station for a rematch with the Texas AYM Aggies who are ranked seventh. The winner of that game would then play the second ranked Indiana Hoosiers in the quarterfinals. The final poll to determine the top-12 teams for the playoff will be announced this Sunday.
