In women’s basketball, Clemson pulled off a road shocker in South Bend as Len Clark reports.
Clemson stunned the Irish 65-58 on Notre Dame’s home court, thanks to a defensive stranglehold down the stretch. The Fighting Irish went scoreless over the final three minutes and twenty seconds, missing all six field goal attempts as the Tigers closed on a 7-0 run. Hannah Hidalgo scored 30 for Notre Dame, but got no help. Johnson-Matthews led Clemson’s bench with 18 points. The Tigers improve to 14-6 overall, while Notre Dame falls to 13-7 and 5-4 in ACC play.
