Basketball season officially opened last night air Notre Dame, with the Fighting Irish hosting the Sharks of Long Island University. Len Clark reports.
Markus Burton and Cole Certa combined for 46 points and Notre Dame never trailed as the Irish rolled past Long Island University 89–67. Graduate transfer Carson Towt in his debut pulled down 19 rebounds as Notre Dame dominated the glass 45-31. The Irish also shot 52 percent from three, and had 52 points off the bench in the win.
