King Charles III: Long Live the King!
The British Monarchy is an institution. Ask most people foreign people about what they think of when we say “Britain” and one of the top ten things they always say is “The Queen”. That, of course, is now going to change to the King, but The Royal Family is always really high up on the list along with tea and punctuality, of course.
On May 6th 2023, Britain is going to have its first change in monarch in 70 years!
It’s the Coronation of King Charles III. Charles, at the age of 74 years old, will ascend to the throne and officially become King and his wife, Camilla, after some speculation, will become Queen, not Queen Consort.
It will be an opportunity for British Pomp and Circumstance. There will be crowds and Union Jacks flying and I’m sure there will be more than a few street parties.
