Wut Up, Witches?!
We want to issue a specific trigger warning for this week’s episode. While we often talk about various difficult or controversial topics, this week, we discuss religious trauma and how it affected our childhoods.
Our topic this week: Is religion harmful for children? If not, why does religious trauma often show up in the form of cPTSD in adults?”
Let’s get into it…
Witchy Tips of the Week
Elly: It’s important to keep your vitamin D levels up! Especially in the winter when we don’t have as much access to daylight (at least, in our hemisphere). Remember to consult with your doctor on the exact dosage, but you’d be surprised how much a daily supplement can help reduce the effects of seasonal depression!
Kitty: This week’s Tarot Tutorial focuses on The Empress (III) of the Major Arcana and the number three cards in the Minor Arcana (Three of Wands, Cups, Swords, and Pentacles).
Reads of the Week
Elly: “What Happened To You?” by Oprah Winfrey and Dr. Perryand “Witchcraft for Wayward Girls” by Grady Hendrix. Don’t forget to check out your local library and use your card to borrow ebooks and audiobooks on Hoopla and Libby!
Kitty: “Taking Charge of Your Fertility” and “Cycle Savvy” by Toni Weschler. You can go to her website at TCOYF.comor buy her books secondhand to save some cash.
Tarot Time
This week for Political Tarot, our demented POTUS has likely had another stroke. So we pull some cards to see what the future has for him! The result? The Fool (0) points to a light at the end of the tunnel (for us). Good news is coming!

Three for Thee!
* No. 17 Flower: Be Honest With Yourself- “we do ourselves a major disservice when we aren’t truthful with ourselves. There’s something you know to be true, yet you continue to ignore it. Lying to yourself may feel like the easiest thing to do, but things have changed. It’s time for you to face reality, even if it makes you uncomfortable. No matter the outcome, it won’t be nearly as bad as you think!“
* No. 30 Castle: It’s Time for Healing, Not War - “don’t burn something down to the ground unless you have a plan to build something better in its place. But it’s too late for that, isn’t it? You got angry, you pointed fingers. You called for war, and war was exactly what you got. Now that it’s time for healing and reparations, what’s your plan? You need to take the same initiative and determination you had when this started and figure it out. Never neglect your intuition.”
* No. 29 Feast: Slow Down and Celebrate Yourself - “sometimes life gets a little too hectic, and the inevitable happens: we forget to take a breather and celebrate what deserves celebration. Make sure you do that from now on. If we never stop to fully recognize the good we have, then the bad stuff can knock us down much harder than it would have otherwise.”
Mini-Magical Activism
Volunteer or donate to a food bank! This is a perfect time to show up to your community. Your dollar bill goes a lot further than the random food in your cupboards, but give only what you can. If that means you can only donate yourself for an hour or two on a random Tuesday, then do it!
Dad Joke of the Week
“I sold my vacuum cleaner today…
… Honestly, it just collected dust.”
