We know whenever we’ve done this, we end up making a mess of things. The temptation to forge our own path and to jump ahead during times of waiting is so great. It’s difficult to trust his timing. It’s hard to be patient. These are the times when the tempter comes to us, twisting and distorting the truth. How can we recognize a spiritual fraud? What do we do when we are tempted to test God in times of waiting or in times of want?
