Matthew Durack:

I'm really leading in Kim's speech, because his is really funny and mine's really boring. But mine is a message to our generation, which is third generation from Bill and Noni, which is: over the years they have instilled in our Father and uncles, and then to ourselves, this feeling of absolutely defying the Establishment in all walks of life, but also able to move through it and within it, to achieve what we need to do. And I think this is a hard line for us to go, but I feel a real duty to do that, to defy the common thing.

And I just have a very small quote from a guy that was reviewing Auguste Rodin in 1900 and Rodin had come up with his crazy new sculptures or something, and everyone thought they were horrible, but over the years everyone's worked out that they're actually quite genius, and he said that 'New beauty will always be offensive to the eyes, an insufferable insult to common mediocrity, it troubles the complacency of vulgar souls', so I believe it's our duty to continue what you've instilled in us, which is to be educated and to go the least trodden path, and to carry that on.

And Kim has an idea which is along these lines.

APPLAUSE

John Durack: Thank you, Matthew; I've got an uneasy feeling about this.
