Judy McCoy Carman is a Kansas based author and activist for animal rights, environmental protection, and world peace. Since the 1970s, when she became vegetarian and then vegan after learning about the cruelty in dairy and eggs, Judy has helped establish activist organizations. In 2003 Judy published Peace to All Beings: Veggie Soup for the Chicken’s Soul, in 2009 she co-authored The Missing Peace: The Hidden Power of our Kinship with Animals, and in 2014 she received the Henry Spira Grassroots Animal Activist Award for outstanding contribution to animal liberation. Judy’s a member of the In Defense of Animals Sustainable Activism Council and her new book, Homo Ahimsa: Who We Really Are and How We're Going to Save the World has just been released.
