Dear beloved,
This letter is for the one who wants fruit, but doesn’t want the dirt.
You say you want to go deeper with God,but you keep craving the applause of surface growth.
You want results,but not roots.
You want revelation,but not repetition.
And the danger is this:If you bloom before you’re anchored, what grows fast can fall faster.
The Shallow Soil
Colossians 2:6–7 says, “So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught.”
Roots don’t form in spotlight; they form in silence. They dig deep into darkness before there’s ever visible fruit.
But too many of us want the ministry before maturity, the platform before purity, the influence before intimacy.
And when storms hit,a shallow root system can’t hold up the branches we begged God to grow.
You can’t keep asking for elevation while avoiding burial.Even seeds must disappear before they develop.
“Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord… He will be like a tree planted by the water.” — Jeremiah 17:7–8
The Call to Depth
God is calling you to quiet places. Not to hide you, but to hold you steady.
He’s digging deeper than you expectedbecause He’s preparing you for more than you imagined.
You say you want to bear fruit, but He wants to make sure you can bear weight.
He’s not ignoring you; He’s anchoring you.The longer the sowing season, the stronger the harvest.
Stop resenting obscurity. It’s God’s way of protecting you from premature exposure.
🔔 YOUR WAKE-UP CALL TODAY
Pray this with honesty:
“Lord, forgive me for despising the hidden seasons.Dig deep in me until nothing shallow remains.Help me crave depth more than recognition, and obedience more than opportunity.Root me in Your Word, anchor me in Your presence, and let endurance, not emotion, be the measure of my faith. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
Then ask yourself:
“Am I rooted in truth, or just familiar with it?”
Today, choose the soil over the stage. The quiet over the quick.Because what’s rooted in Christ cannot be ripped out by culture.
You don’t need to be seen to be growing. You just need to stay planted where God put you.In time, the fruit will speak for itself.
Before we sign off, choose one “root” practice today—10 quiet minutes in the Word, one memorized verse, or a simple prayer walk—and drop your choice in the comments so we can cheer you on. If this helped, share it with one friend who’s growing underground right now.
With love in Christ,Camille & Shawna
