Dear beloved,
This letter is for the one who used to burn.
You remember when passion came easy, when worship poured out without forcing it,when you felt the nearness of God like oxygen.
But somewhere along the way, your fire turned into a flicker.
You didn’t mean to drift, you just got busy, bruised, or bored.
And now, what once burned bright has gone quiet. You call it maturity, but truthfully—it’s apathy.
You’ve traded holy fire for functional faith.
The Flame of Devotion
Romans 12:11 says, “Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.”
Fervor doesn’t fade because God withdraws;it fades because we stop feeding the flame.
You can’t stay on fire while living near what keeps you cold. You can’t burn for God while soaking in compromise.
We want God’s power, but not always His purifying presence. We crave His anointing, but resist the altar it requires.
Fire doesn’t fall on comfort. It falls on surrender.
2 Timothy 1:6 says, “Fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you.”
Paul didn’t say “wait for the flame.”He said fan it.Because revival is maintained by movement.
You can’t outsource your flame to a pastor, a playlist, or a platform. The same Spirit who started the fire lives inside you—but it’s your job to stir the embers.
When Fire Feels Far
Maybe you’re afraid to burn again.Because last time, your zeal cost you something. A friendship, a reputation, a sense of control.
But love worth having always costs something. And fire worth keeping always consumes something.
If you want God’s power, you must let Him consume what’s competing for your heart.
This isn’t about hype;it’s about holiness.
He’s not calling you to burn louder,He’s calling you to burn longer.
🔔 YOUR WAKE-UP CALL TODAY
Pray this aloud:
“Lord, forgive me for letting my flame fade.Rekindle my fire.Burn away indifference and renew my hunger for You.Teach me to tend the flame daily—through Word, worship, and obedience.I don’t want borrowed fire; I want holy fire.Breathe on these embers until they blaze again. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
Then write this declaration:
“My fire will not go out. I will tend the flame.”
Do one thing today that fuels your fire:open your Bible before your phone, sing louder than your doubt, speak Jesus into a space that’s gone cold.
Fire fades where it isn’t fed.And the fire that’s truly from God never burns out. It only burns brighter when fanned by faith.
If this rekindled something, share it with one friend whose fire used to burn bright. Invite her to fan the flame with you this week.
With love in Christ,Shawna & Camille
